At Tomfoolery Wood Co, every piece is handcrafted to order, and we’re committed to making sure it arrives safely and smoothly. Because our furniture is custom-built and shipped through freight partners, our shipping process works a little differently than typical online stores. This policy explains how shipping works, what you can expect, and how we support you along the way.

 

How Shipping Works

Once your furniture is complete and ready to leave our shop, we work with a freight broker to source the best available shipping rates and service options at that moment. This ensures you receive fair, competitive pricing tailored to your specific order and location.

Choosing Your Delivery Method

When your piece is ready to ship, you’ll be presented with delivery options such as:

  • Curbside Delivery
  • Threshold Delivery
  • Room-of-Choice Delivery
  • White-Glove Delivery (includes placement, light assembly, and packaging removal)

You choose the speed and service level that work best for you.

You will pay the shipping cost quoted at the time the order is ready for shipment.

Because rates fluctuate, shipping fees provided in advance are estimates only.

 



Shipping Timelines

Every item is custom made. Lead times vary, but most orders are completed within the production window provided at the time of purchase. Once shipped:

  • Freight carriers generally take 5–15 business days depending on distance and service level.
  • You will receive tracking information or delivery coordination details directly from the carrier or delivery partner.

Please note: Shipping timelines are separate from production timelines.

 



Receiving Your Delivery

For large or heavy items, the carrier may contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. Someone 18+ must be present to receive the order.

Inspecting Your Order on Arrival

Before signing the delivery receipt:

  • Inspect the packaging and item for visible damage.
  • Photograph any concerns (required for carrier claims).
  • Note damages on the delivery paperwork before signing.

If you receive a delivery confirmation email but cannot locate your furniture, contact us within 5 days so we can assist with a carrier trace.

 



Shipping Fees Are Non-Refundable

Because freight services are provided by independent carriers:

  • Shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable
  • We cannot reimburse third-party handling, storage, redelivery, or freight charges
  • Return shipping for non-warranty reasons is the responsibility of the customer

 



Damage in Transit

If your order arrives damaged:

  1. Email info@tomfoolerywood.com within 48 hours
  2. Include photos of the damage and packaging
  3. We will work with the freight partner to resolve the issue

Approved shipping damage claims may result in a repair, replacement, or replacement part depending on the situation.

 



Missed or Refused Deliveries

If a delivery is missed, refused, or cannot be completed due to incorrect contact information:

  • Redelivery fees or storage fees charged by the carrier are the customer’s responsibility.

 



International Shipping

At this time, we primarily ship within the United States. For international orders, please contact us directly so we can assess feasibility and cost.

 



Changes to Delivery Addresses

If you need to update your shipping address, please notify us as early as possible.
Once your order is in transit, changes may:

  • Incur carrier rerouting fees, and
  • Cause additional delays

These fees are charged by the carrier and are the customer’s responsibility.
