Order details
We offer several convenient shipping options depending on your location and preferences. You can view and select different shipping options and prices at checkout.
Since prices, the type of services, and expectations for residential delivery vary substantially with freight shipping, please read our shipping policies and shipping FAQs to ensure you know exactly what to expect, and choose the option that’s right for you.
As you’ll see, we offer:
- FREE local delivery to shipping locations within 50 miles of our shop (including customers willing to meet us within this radius to accept their order in person).
- All other orders are shipped by freight. With freight, you can select your service level (from Residential curbside to “white glove” delivery).
- FEDEX or UPS ground shipping for small pieces weighing less than 100 pounds.
At Tomfoolery, we don’t stock inventory. All furniture is custom made by hand only after receiving orders from our customers. While our small team of career craftsmen work quickly, we don’t rush through projects; we take the time each project deserves, so that your order is pristine, and more than worth the wait.
Our typical lead time is approximately 8 to 12 weeks from the time you place your order to when we start production.
We require a 50% deposit of your order total when it is placed. This is to hold your order in our queue, and purchase the materials required for its production. We understand that you’re making a large financial commitment (and one of trust in Tomfoolery), so we offer refunds on cancellations during this period.
We’ll contact you as we get close to production, when the remaining 50% balance will be due. After production starts, it’s difficult-to-impossible for us to alter or cancel your order, so please make sure you’ve read and understand our Cancellation and Refund policies, as we hope to ensure full alignment and no misunderstandings.
We accept cash, check, credit card, ACH or wire transfers, gold bullion, and just about any other form of payment known to man (except crypto, our owner is a luddite and doesn’t really understand it).

Custom modifications
Solid Wood Species
We use solid hardwoods from the Pacific Northwest. Our native PNW wood species offered are Madrone, Myrtle, and Willamette Walnut. These species are rare in that they are not farmed. The lumber is collected from fallen trees, in the most responsible ways possible.
Solid Brass Hardware
Attention to quality and details are important to us. We've sourced strong, soft-closing undermount drawer slides. Classic wood or brass drawer pulls are also options to make the piece uniquely yours.
Leg and Base Styles
We have a variety of leg and base styles, tapered or straight, to suit your taste and vision for your desired custom furniture piece.
